How to Stay Sane While Being Remote?

With the flip of a switch, we went from rushing into the office every morning to rolling out of bed five minutes before a meeting. We went from laughing with our co-workers in the office to yelling at our kids to not be loud while we are on Zoom.

 

The real question on everyone’s mind right now is how can I stay sane while being cooped up at home daily?

 

Set a Game Plan

Each morning plan out your day. Figure out when your meetings are, when the kids need help with homework, when you will take lunch etc. This will help you to be able to start to normalize doing things from home. Uninterrupted Time

Whoever you live with is going to want to come in and interrupt you CONSTANTLY. It’s human nature. Make sure to ensure productivity set aside a specific time and space where you can work in peace and make sure anyone you live with knows those details. Set a timer and add it to your calendar to keep track.

Accept It Won’t Be Perfect

At some point, you will have a dog barking while on the phone with an important client, a kid begging you to play, or all the frustration that comes with online learning. Don’t sweat it! Everyone understands because they are going through the same thing! Take a deep breath and continue. It will be all be okay.

Get Outside

Make sure to switch up your scenery. Go on a walk, a run, read a book outside. Anything to get some fresh air and vitamin D. You might not want to at first, but it will help you feel a lot better. Check out these outdoor ideas you can find in Utah!

Me Time

You deserve it! Take a break and do something you love. Eat something you love. Spending time by yourself for yourself will help you stay sane and stress-free while the world is turning upside down. Here are some ideas on how to de-stress.

 

By following these five steps you will be able to enjoy or at least tolerate the struggle of working from home.
